After you attended the lessons or watched the course video, and booked for the exam, you can come to our office to study the mock exam questions for free during our office hours. The next live English or Cantonese lessons are still available. Please register as early as possible.

*According to the Hong Kong Shipping and Port Control  Ordinance Marine Department, all operators of pleasure vessels, boats, and yachts driving within Hong Kong waters MUST HOLD the Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate of Competency.

Cantonese Lesson Content: 

Date: 15, 16, 18, 19th Jan 2024
Time: 7 pm - 9:30 pm

Language: Teaching in Cantonese, textbooks, and mock questions in Chinese
Lesson fee: Original price HKD 4,600 per person (including Part A & Part B). The deposit is HKD 400.

📍 Exam Requirement

• Age 18 or above
• Applicant must submit an eye-test report on distant vision and colour vision to enrol for the exam
• Applicant must attend both Part A & Part B exams on the same day

Part A: Navigation, Seamanship, and Safety

1. Handling characteristics and limitations of small craft
2. Anchoring
3. Startup and close down safety checks
4. Chart work, position fixing, ETA, etc.
5. Tides
6. Navigation of small power-driven craft in restricted visibility
7. Local knowledge
8. International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, including lights, sound signals, etc.
9. Safety equipment to be carried on board
10. Use of VHF
11. Marine Department services
12. Storm signals and weather
13. Handling of emergency situations
14. Accident reports

Part B: Engineering Knowledge

1. Engines - Construction and functions of Internal Combustion Engines, Pre-start inspection, starting and stopping sequences
2. Duties while underway
3. Batteries and electrical equipment
4. Troubleshooting and remedies at sea
5. Maintenance
6. Safe operation of deck equipment
7. Fire fighting and fire prevention

Mock Papers Revision Time:

Monday - Friday 10 am - 8 pm (no lunch break) (Closed on Sat, Sun, and public holidays)
Students can have an unlimited trial of mock exam questions during the above period.
After you attended the lessons or watched the course video, and booked for the exam, you can come to our office to study the mock exam questions for free during our office hours. If you enrol in both Part A and Part B courses at the same time, the course is valid for 2 years. If you enrol in either Part A or Part B course only, the course is valid for 1 year.
